O u r w i n e r y
We have been working on our family orchard and cellar since our childhood. The idea of preparing our own wine and bottling matured in 2004-2005. Our first independent wine was associated with the 2006 vintage, but the real change from the point of view of the life of our cellar occurred in 2008 based on our growing experience.
We chose a path that focused on natural conditions, environmentally friendly grape cultivation and wine production based on traditional methods.

We farm nine hectares of vineyards. Our vineyards are hidden among the Strekov hills, in the center of the Strekov wine-growing region. We produce wines according to the Autentist Charter, with strict harvest reduction and spontaneous fermentation – mainly in wooden barrels. We exclude the use of any foreign substances, such as yeast, enzymes and various preparations, which, although they make the winemaker’s life easier, but on the other hand, they introduce the foreign tones into the wine and distort the true character of the Strekov terroir.

We started our vineyard story in family vineyards on a total area of 0.20 ha, which were gradually expanded to today’s nine hectares.
Our vineyards are hidden among the Strekov hills, in the center of the Strekov vineyard region, on clay-loamy soils with a higher lime content, at an altitude of 200-240 m.a.s.l., oriented to the southwest.
Since 2014, our vineyards are farmed in an ecological mode without using any chemical preparations. We strictly reduce the harvest period in order to obtain the purest quality that nature can give us.

In 2015, we managed to build our new vault cellar. The story of the cellar began in Bratislava in the former tobacco factory called Uhorská Kráľovská Továrna in 1851. After the building was pulled down, we bought it and used 45,000 pieces of hand-made bricks for its construction.
Since the building of the seven-meter deep cellar, spontaneous fermentation and wine aging has been taking place in the oak barrels.
We prefer procedures to minimize the interventions in wine production. The priority of work in the cellar is the environmental protection, minimizing of the energy consumption and waste. Since 2008, we have not been using the selected yeast, artificial nutrition, added enzymes or any other auxiliary substances.
Fermentation often takes place together with the whole berries or with the skins, and they mature on sediment, on yeast without added sulfur, for a long time until bottling.

Our wines come from an ecologically managed vineyard, we are certified organic producers of grapes and wine.
When growing grapes and making wine, we emphasize ecologically sustainable agriculture, with the aim of maintaining long-term fertility and biological activity of the soil, preserving biodiversity and overall life in the vineyard.
We do not use herbicides, synthetic insecticides, acaricides and systemic fungicides and synthetic fertilizers during cultivation (treatment is only possible with protective agents and auxiliaries approved for organic viticulture).
